I Left My Harp In Sam Crab's Disco

After about 15 hours of flying (considering that from St. Kilda to Kings Cross it's 13 hours on a bus!) I arrived in San Francisco. In an effort to stay awake until it was really bedtime, I walked all the way from my hotel to Fisherman's Wharf - hard work considering those hills (San Fran is kind of like Melbourne, just much hillier - and warmer - and... actually, they are not alike at all)! I even walked up Lombard Street (not the crocked bit, but next to it!). They really need to just straighten that road out - bloody silly really!

Lisa Mac, I thought you were joking about "Coit Tower", I thought you were just referring to the Castro! Actually, I did learn that Coit Tower is named after Lillie Hitchcock Coit, who bequeathed funds for the beautification of the city upon her death in 1929. Whatever, I might go up the Coit tomorrow if I have time (either that, or Nob Hill).

After a day exploring the wharf areas, I took the easier way home, taking a cable car ride back to near the hotel. For some reason, it was free to ride the cable cars today, so there was a huge queue (or line, as they incorrectly say here), but worth the wait to avoid those bloody hills!
